Two percent of the world’s population vanishes without a trace, and those left behind must grapple with an unbearable truth: not knowing why. But this isn’t a mystery to be solved. There are no answers, no grand revelation—only the raw, unfiltered weight of grief, faith, and survival in a world that no longer makes sense.

You just know when you're watching a film from the early 2000s. There's a distinct, palpable quality to early 2000s films that really sets them apart. Beyond the genre classifications, these movies possess a unique visual, audible, and tonal atmosphere.

We all root for the hero, but let's be honest - great villains steal the show. They drive the plot, challenge the protagonist, and leave us with chills (or cheers, depending on how evil they are). But what makes a villain truly iconic?

Most stories wouldn't exist without the protagonist's transformation, or the impactful absence of it. This change unfolds on two battlegrounds: the internal and the external. Internally, the protagonist wrestles with a tempest of emotions - confronting insecurities, yearnings, and the shadows of their past. This emotional odyssey shapes their perspective and fuels their desires. Externally, they embark on a physical adventure, a tangible test that throws them against the world's obstacles.

Arguably my new favourite cinematic sub-genre. Absurdism speaks to the absurdity of human existence through dark comedy and clever satire. These films are not just about absurd ridiculousness.
